In 1994 James G Murphy formed a Private Investigation agency known as Associated Detective Agency. In 1996 he expanded into traffic control and formed ADA Traffic Control. Since then Associated Detective Agency name was dropped and the name ADA was formed and now has expanded to Maine, New Hampshire, and New York employing hundreds of local hard-working employees. Today there are 4 divisions under ADA – Traffic Control, Sales and Rental, Security, and Private Investigations.

Traffic Control – ADA Traffic Control employs certified traffic control flaggers for construction and utility sites all across New England. ADA provides each employee with a 4-hour classroom training AND THEN a minimum 4-hour on-job road training. Additional responsibilities all require additional classroom and on-the-job training and certifications. ADA provides full traffic control details for all jobs, no jobs are too big or too small. Starting from the planning phase with traffic plans, to pre-con set up, temporary traffic signs, barrels, cones, trucks, laborers, and of course flaggers, ADA is here to set up any traffic control for any job in the roadway.

Sales and Rental – ADA Sales and Rentals offers a variety of traffic safety equipment to the construction industry all across New England. From message boards, arrow boards, radar speed boards, light towers, barrels, cones, trucks, barricades, signs, radios, and, much much more. ADA has a very in-depth inventory and can almost always get you what you need for your job. Be sure to visit the Sales and Rentals tab on this website.

Security – ADA Security offers certified Security Officers for Vermont and New Hampshire. ADA Security offers guards for weddings, events, concerts, factories, stores, parties, hospitals, bus stops, malls, and much much more. Please visit our Security Tab on this website.

Private Investigations – Some of our investigators are former law enforcement officers, which allows us to offer a great background and foundation for our clients. All of our investigators must complete extensive training in every area that we offer prior to being able to perform investigations. We seek out only the most qualified and highly respected individuals to become investigators. Our investigations typically produce great results and that’s due to our extensive training. Our company belongs to several organizations including the Vermont Association of Investigative and Security Services (VAISS), National Association of Investigative Services (NAIS), New Hampshire League of Investigators (NHLI), South Carolina Association of Legal Investigators (SCALI), and International Investigators. Please visit our Private Investigations Tab for more info.

We are locally owned and operated with offices located in Colchester, VT, and Bow, NH. Please call us toll-free at 802-891-6439 if we can help in any way.
